| Log on and fall into the arms of your perfect political match
HERE'S some disconcerting news: the most democratic thing you can do this Saturday is let someone else tell you how to vote. Confused? You needn't be. Last week, the political activist group GetUp! launched a new web page that takes the guesswork out of voting by playing Cupid with citizens and candidates. The website, www.howshouldivote.com.au works like a computer dating site. Lonely voters simply enter their vital statistics (in this case postcodes rather than chest circumferences), answer a bunch of questions (views on corporate taxes rather than views on athletic Piscean divorcees) and voila: GetUp's crazy love-bug computer sends you the mobile phone numbers of 10 horny housewives in your area ... sorry, I mean a personalised how-to-vote card for the House of Representatives.

There is some discussion lately about same sex classrooms as the latest educational panacea. A few years ago the big issue was making every student wear a uniform to school. President Clinton sent every principal in the country a book promoting it. The initiative must have failed, because today you don't see many kids in school uniforms and the issue seems to have dropped from the media radar screen. It is the nature of much so-called educational innovation to capture the imagination with or without adequate evidence to support claims. People can intuitively agree that having same sex classes might help some kids, but when you look at what studies exist to support this, there isn't much. Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is the landmark legislation that bans sex discrimination in schools, whether it is in academics or athletics.
Fake beauties rush net lover
FAKE beauties, including a Nigerian woman with millions to share, have rushed an internet "sting" set-up to test online dating services. THEIR stories are always the same - a tragic young girl, usually Nigerian, forced to live in terrible conditions until she is able to access the millions her father left her. SHE will contact you through a dating site asking for help to transfer the money into an offshore account for your new life together. USING a composite photo made from images of staff members, the Sunday Mail set up a profile of Geoff Carr , an eligible, handsome South Australianon, and put him a popular dating website to see what response we would get. And it doesn't matter that he is not a real man – because neither are many of the women who contacted him during his first week on a popular dating website.
BB7's Imogen dates a private eye
Big Brother 7 star Imogen Thomas has started dating an American private eye.The 24-year-old met the investigator while in Miami on a modelling assignment recently, and she is hoping to get to know him better over Christmas."He's absolutely gorgeous, I only met him a week ago but I've already asked him over for Christmas," Imogen told the Daily Star Sunday. "He's not sure how long he can stay but I want him to meet my mum."I couldn't believe it when he told me he was a private detective - it sounded like a dodgy chat-up line at first but I made him show me his ID card to prove it. My mum couldn't believe it when I told her I'd asked a private detective to come over for Christmas."Imogen also revealed that she is still receiving plenty of work offers on the back of her Big Brother stint in 2006."The modelling work has really stacked up," she explained.
