| Beware Yahoo Personals’ deceptive billing policy
You might be wondering what a post like this is doing on a blog largely about VoIP, but bear with me. To some extent, this post is about VoIP. And athough I try not to air my consumer grievances here, I am writing this post to warn you about a practice that your knowledge of can save you some dollars. OK, first let us go back a year. My love life, my dating life, was in a rough patch. (If you want details, you buy the next pitcher). Not wanting to remain in the state I just referred to, I decided I would declare a jihad on loneliness. Being a creature of the Internet, I posted a profile on several dating sites including Yahoo! Personals. My Match.com profile soon led to a happy result. That's her photo on the top of my CPU tower. As soon as the ultimately "happy result" became quantifiable, I let my Yahoo! Personals account lapse.
Wizards Soft No More: Gut Check
The Washington Wizards have been labeled as being soft for as far back as can be remembered. Their defense has been suspect, their toughness has been questioned and their resiliency has always been in doubt. Hopefully with back-to-back victories over Eastern Conference playoff contenders, the Wizards will finally begin to dispel the notions that they are simply a "pretty" team. On Friday night, the Wizards defeated division rival Atlanta Hawks (102-98) in overtime at Phillips Arena. The following day, less than 24 hours after besting the Hawks, and with the starters having played nearly 42 minutes the previous night, the Wizards came out victorious (85-78) over the team with the best record in the NBA, the Boston Celtics. "It means a lot," said veteran point guard Antonio Daniels. "It means even more to win two slugfest games in a row. Coming off last night - off an overtime win - and to get in late with guys playing a lot of minutes last night and to respond the way that we responded today." Neither of the wins were textbook. They were in fact, slugfests, as Daniels called them. In both contests, each team would throw haymakers and the other team would have to respond. In both games, the Wizards displayed emotion and mental and physical toughness on a scale that we haven't witnessed in the nation's capital in a long time.

6 ways to beat the breakup blues
Being alone after a breakup is a challenge, especially at holiday time. Divorce or separation after a long relationship is one of life's major stresses and can plunge you into depression and health problems. But this awareness can motivate you to find ways to make the net effect of the breakup positive. You can make this painful time into a whole new rebirth for yourself in 2008! Spend time with close friends A UCLA study showed that being rejected activates one of the same areas of the brain as physical pain. The more ignored the people felt, the more activity they had in the anterior cingulate, which also registers physical distress. Spending time with close friends offsets the pain by causing the brain to release natural opioids, which are like the painkillers found in opium.
